Miami Swim Week embodies all of the things we love most about summer, but mostly we're taking note of the bevy of beach babe-inspired hairstyles that hit the runways.

Luckily, E! Style Contributor finalist Monica Veloz was backstage at the Frankies Bikini show where she chatted with TRESemmé hairstylist Tyler Laswell and got the scoop on the ‘60s style waves that dominated the show.

Since the bikinis were bright, colorful, tie-dye and downright psychedelic in design, the hair was simple but sexy. To create a voluminous wave that doesn't look like a carbon copy of everyone else's beach style, the stylist has a trick: Nix the curling iron.

To start, divide hair into small sections on your head, separating each section into two strands. Twist the two pieces into a rope-like spiral and then roll the section into a bun and secure. Pin each bun into place and let the style sit while you do your makeup. Let your hair fall naturally once each bun is taken out; then, following the direction of the curl, quickly run a flat iron over each section to lock in with heat.

Just be sure to set the style with climate protection hairspray, like TRESemmé Climate Protection Finishing Spray, to tame the frizz.
