Mario SorrentiWhile Irina Shayk used to wish she were a boy, the 30-year-old model says she could never be attracted to another woman.
The supermodel covers the September issue of GQ Italia, photographed by Mario Sorrenti and interviewed by none other than Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci. In the publication, she opened up to the famous stylist about the path that led to her successful career as well as a few other topics, including her sexuality.
In talking about her childhood, Shayk explained, "I was born and raised in a small village, and I didn't even think I was especially pretty. At 14, I'd have given my left arm to be a boy: I thought I was horrible, and that no-one would ever find me attractive."
That all changed for Bradley Cooper's gorgeous girlfriend as she's now one of the most sought-after models in the industry.
However, she can't forget about her humble beginnings.
In fact, she admits she had never traveled by plan until she was 19-years-old and will never forget her first time in Paris, which marks one of her most embarrassing moments so far.
"I was 20, and I had nothing to wear and nothing to eat," she recalled. "I remember how embarrassed I felt in front of the other models because of how I was dressed."
Despite spending the last 10 years surrounded by some of the most beautiful women in the world, Shayk has never been attracted to another female.
"No way," she said. "I'm Russian: I'm into men, diamonds and caviar."
Tisci reiterated that point, telling GQ, "Irina is a sexual, sensual animal. She's fearless. That's the kind of woman she is: an ultra-glam sex symbol, brimming with power and intelligence. I can see why she's a fantasy for men: she seems almost unreal, like a nymph from a dream."
That likely explains how she landed one of Hollywood's hottest hunks, Mr. Cooper.
The beautiful couple was first linked in April 2015 when they were spotted attending Broadway's Finding Neverland, just a short while after Shayk split from soccer stud Cristiano Ronaldo and Cooper broke up with longtime girlfriend, Suki Waterhouse.
After that, the PDA was non-stop. From making out on the island of Capri to kissing in the streets of New York to continuously being photographed walking hand-in-hand after late night dinners and city outings, they've truly become one of Hollywood's hottest couples.
They seemed to make things official when they made their red carpet debut together at the L'Oreal Red Obsession Party in Paris in March. Shortly after that, the supermodel shared a photo on Instagram with her beau while vacationing, and in May, they both attended the Met Gala and were photographed at an after-party.
"Things are getting more serious between them," a source told us in June. "They have spoken about having a family soon and building a future together. Irina would like to have kids in the next few years. Being a mother is something that is very important to her...Things are moving in an amazing direction. "
