Mel B has her daughter to thank for her latest adventure. The America's Got Talent judge hit the cliffs of Wales with host Bear Grylls for and adventure of a lifetime on NBC's Running Wild with Bear Grylls—and it's all thanks to her kid's input.

"It was all my daughter Phoenix's idea that I do the show.  She convinced me it would be good for me to challenge myself inside and out. Phoenix knows I don't even like going on roller coasters, I'm not an adrenaline rush kind of girl and most things I do I'm totally in control," Mel B told E! News in an exclusive statement. "So to do this show was a big leap of faith in my daughter, and of course in Bear! Giving your trust, control and life to someone else is daunting but it was truly a life changing experience. I did things I never thought were possible."

"With the addition of Simon, the chemistry between our judges has grown even stronger and it's easy to see how much enthusiasm they bring to the show night after night," Paul Telegdy, president of NBC Entertainment's Alternative and Reality Group, said in a statement when Mel B and Co.'s return was announced. "Nick adds a boundless energy as host that ties everything together. We're thrilled to have such a strong team returning for season 12."

Mel B's Running Wild episode will air on a special day, Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 10 p.m. on NBC. Catch Mel on America's Got Talent on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
