Something tell us David Bowie would be a pretty proud grandfather right about now.

The late singer's son, Duncan Jones, took to Twitter on Friday with an extra special announcement regarding the birth of his son with wife Rodene Ronquillo

"Stenton David Jones. Born July 10th, exactly six months after his grandad made room for him. Love you both so," the director wrote alongside a cartoon image of the father and son embracing their little bundle of joy.

Now Bowie's legacy can live on even longer, as the couple paid tribute to the iconic artist via their son's middle name.

For the eldest son of Bowie, Stenton's birth is a reminder of the final days he spent with his father.

"When we found out what the gender of our baby was going to be, we were able to get the doctor to write it on a card without us seeing it and then I got to spend Christmas with my dad and he actually told us what the gender was going to be," Jones told E! News exclusively in May.

Jones posted a version of the hand-drawn card without the gender reveal on his Twitter a month after Bowie died from liver cancer on Jan. 10.

Jones said, "We found the time to do all of the family stuff that we wanted to do, got a chance to spend some time together have our talks and say our goodbyes and things like that."
