Watch: Gayle King Talks Historic Moment for Women at DNC

History was made last night and Gayle King is enjoying every second of it.

While Hillary Clinton has been the presumed Democratic nominee for president for some time, the CBS This Morning anchor says the official nomination Tuesday made for a deeply meaningful night in Philadelphia.

"Even though you know it's going to happen, because of the numbers, when the moment actually happens, you have to say, 'I love being a girl,'" King told E! News' Sibley Scoles. "Regardless of your party affiliation, you have to say this is quite an accomplishment for the country; this is quite an accomplishment for women."

While the star-studded convention has featured a number of powerhouse female speakers, including Hollywood celebs such as Meryl Streep and Eva Longoria, King doesn't have to think twice to choose her favorite highlight.

"Do I even have to say Michelle Obama's speech?" King said. "To weave the tale from slaves that built the White House, to her daughters playing on the front lawn, to Hillary Clinton being nominated as the first woman president."

Outside of the Wells Fargo Center, King was far from the only celebrity to express awe at Clinton's historic nomination. Amy Schumer tweeted a picture of herself with the former Secretary of State while Whoopi Goldberg issued a challenge for the Democratic nominee: "Ok @HillaryClinton...History made...your turn now...Take care of business."

Even one of Bernie Sanders' disappointed fans tweeted, "I'm still a huge Bernie supporter but I'd be lying if I said I didn't tear up when Hillary said she wouldn't be the last female president."

While she shattered a virtual glass ceiling via satellite last night, Clinton will address the DNC  in person on Thursday, following an introduction from her daughter Chelsea Clinton. King says she expects emotions to continue to run high through the conclusion of the convention.

"There was a lot of weeping in the room last night and it just continues tonight," King said.
