Demi Lovato took the first day of the Democratic National Convention by storm!
The singer was center stage tonight when spoke about the stigma surrounding mental health issues in front of a packed crowd at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
"This is not about politics, it's simply the right thing to do. I stand here today as proof that you can live a normal and empowered life with mental illness," she explained before transitioning into her current chart-topper, "Confident."
The 23-year-old has been outspoken in her support of Hillary Clinton all throughout the election and in January she spoke at a rally in Iowa for the presidential hopeful.
"I don't think there's a woman more confident than Hillary Clinton," the singer exclaimed, playing off of the title of her hit track.
"Now it's time that we celebrate the real superstar that's here today. I couldn't be more thrilled to be here in support of her. The person that is about to walk on this stage, not only am I voting for because of her beliefs, her strength and the fact that she completely embodies the concept of women empowerment."
Lovato added, "I am voting for her because I truly believe there is nobody more qualified to run this country—our country—than our Secretary of State."
Clinton returned the compliments in her speech shortly thereafter, telling the supporters that Demi is "an extraordinary example" who has "given hope and reinforcement to so many."
Lovato joins the ranks of several other famous faces who have publicly proclaimed that they are voting for Clinton in the presidential election, including Katy Perry, Lena Dunham, Uzo Aduba, Olivia Wilde and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
