Matthew McConaughey may have skipped being in the Magic Mike sequel, but he may not be done with those strippers just yet.

McConaughey, who played strip club owner Dallas in the first of the two Magic Mike flicks, says Channing Tatum hasn't called to ask him to be the upcoming live show in Las Vegas. "I wasn't invited. I didn't even get the call," the Oscar winner said with a laugh while promoting his new Civil War drama Free State of Jones (in theaters on June 24).

Asked if he'd be up for a guest appearance, McConaughey laughed again, "To show up and just Dallas it out? That'd be fun!"

We certainly think so.

Tatum announced about a month ago that Magic Mike Live Las Vegas will debut next year at Sin City's Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

Free State of Jones is anything but Magic Mike. Based on true events, McConaughey plays a Confederate soldier who leads a slave rebellion during the Civil War.

While some of the scenes in the movie were brutally violent, McConaughey's kids were frequent visitors.

"I was pretty free with allowing them on this set," he said. "Hard truths, violence, but true history—I'll take that over video games and shooting everybody up in a fictionalized history. So my son and I had lots of talks about it."
