It was a magical night at the Hollywood Bowl Friday when Sara Bareilles, Rebel Wilson, John Stamos and other stars took the stage for a production of Disney's The Little Mermaid.
Bareilles played Ariel, while Wilson channeled her inner sea witch to play villain Ursula and Stamos donned a fake mustache to portray Chef Louis. They were joined by the likes of Glee alum Darren Criss, who played Prince Eric, as they performed songs from the hit 1989 film and its adapted Broadway show. Tituss Burgess reprised his role as Sebastian the crab from the musical.
Several fans, including actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum, posted on social media photos and videos from the show. Clips were also posted on official Disney accounts.
Bareilles was a perfect Ariel, dazzling the audience with both her vocals as she performed her character's iconic song "Part of Your World," and with her look, sporting red hair extensions, a flower and a strapless, sparkling teal gown.
And after the curtain call, the show featured a surprise guest—Jodi Benson, who portrayed Ariel in the movie. She also sang the song onstage, to the delight of longtime fans.
Wilson channeled Ursula perfectly with her almost gravity-defying platinum blond wig, colorful makeup and sparkling black gown.
Criss looked and played the part of Eric perfectly as well, showcasing his smooth, mesmerizing vocals.
Burgess was a delight as Sebastian, as expected.
And Stamos, who is also a Broadway alum, brought his talent, the laughs and his existing hotness, mustache and all.
Many of the cast members shared behind-the-scenes photos.
"This was an epic night of dreams. Wow #finsandfeelings," Bareilles wrote on Instagram.
The cast is set to return to the Hollywood Bowl Saturday and Monday for more performances of The Little Mermaid.
