Kate Middleton penned a heartfelt letter in honor of a cause that's near and dear to her heart: East Anglia's Children's Hospices.

EACH marks one of the Duchess of Cambridge's patronages—she is currently involved with nine (and counting)—and she's been working with the organization for several years now.

This week marks Children's Hospice Week and in an effort to raise awareness, Middleton sent a special message to support those in need.

"Spending quality time together is such an important aspect of family life, but for those caring for children with life-limiting conditions, even this simple act can prove to be incredibly challenging. The practical realities of providing round the clock care mean even activities that so many of us take for granted can be just too complicated," Middleton explained.

"The amazing, and life changing support provided by children's hospices and palliative care charities across the UK offers a lifeline to families under incredible pressure. This support gives these families the space they need to simply spend time together, which is so important in the most difficult times imaginable."

The mother of two added, "I hope you will join me in supporting Children's Hospice Week this year; we need to help these families treasure their precious time together."

Earlier today, Middleton joined Prince William and Queen Elizabeth at the Chelsea Flower Show to view the  floral exhibits on display. One included a breathtaking display of 5,000 poppies surrounding the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

The event marks the Queen's 51st visit to the annual affair, which is sponsored by the Royal Horticultural Society.
