For anyone hoping that Selena Gomez's Revival tour is going to feature a host of her famous pals, à la Taylor Swift circa 1989...you're in for a bit of a disappointment.
Though that should pass within seconds once Selena starts singing "Hands to Myself" and her other hit tunes.
But let Selena herself explain why she won't be bringing her squad onstage during her performances, the star having chatted with Entertainment Weekly recently about the vision for her tour and the new music she's got in the pipeline.
She revealed that her longtime BFF was indeed all for the show featuring celebrity cameos.
"I made a joke about this [when] Taylor was in the room," Selena recalled, explaining her decision, "and she looked at me like, 'You should totally do that!' I was like, 'I can't have all those people come on my stage!' She's like, 'Why not?' Because I'm not Taylor Swift!"
How weird, we say that all the time too.
Selena added that she doesn't want her work judged by whom she's friends with or who she's dating—she wants it to be about the music, for now.
The young starlet has proven lately that being in show biz for so long has made her wise beyond her years.
"I've been in so many situations where it's like, 'Oh, you're friends with this person? You're with that person?' All this credibility s--t that drives me crazy. I love being able to work with other artists I admire, but I have a lot to do on my own before I am willing to make it all about embracing other people."
Selena went on to say she wants people attending her concerts to have their own personal revivals out in the audience.
"I want it to be just vibrant and full of life so that you feel good after leaving," the 23-year-old star gushed. She went on to say that, though she doesn't want the stage to be too over-the-top, with "tons of fire and confetti every five seconds," it's still going to be the biggest platform she's ever performed on and she's excited.
But are we getting a new Selena album in 2016?!
"Hopefully!" she told EW. "It's going so well, and I know it's not even remotely close to being done, but I'm going in all different directions and feeling it out. If it's great, I'm not going to hesitate to release it."
See that you don't, Selena!
The Revival Tour opens tonight in Las Vegas, with Joe Jonas opening with his band DNCE. Selena will make her way around the U.S. and Canada before heading to Asia and Europe starting in July.
