In the new X-Men: ApocalypseJennifer Lawrence's Mystique travels to rescue fellow mutants, including a familiar face.

In a teaser released Thursday, she rocks a killer '80s look—teased hair, a metallic purple mini dress and big hoop earrings—while watching a cage fight in a club in Berlin between Angel, a winged mutant, and Nightcrawler, a blue German mutant who can teleport himself (although not out of a cage, apparently).

In a bid to access a restricted area, Mystique flirts in German with a beefy, armed German security guard who dares to call her a "little mouse." She also shows him just what a mistake that was.

Spoiler alert!

Mystique wants to rescue Nightcrawler and bring him to X-Men leader Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) to become his new mutant students, so they can learn to master their powers.

X-Men fans have pointed out that in the original Marvel comics, Mystique is Nightcrawler's mother and his father is the mutant Azazel, who appeared with her in the first film in the series, X-Men: First Class, which was set in 1962. X-Men: Apocalypse is set in 1983. Mystique's age in the comics is believed to be over 100 and she maintains a youthful look. It is unclear if Nightcrawler's heritage will be revealed in the new movie.

However, Kodi Smit-McPhee, who plays him, remained cryptic about the character's origins in an interview posted last year.

"It's really the fun, happy, swashbuckling Nightcrawler that we all love, so I really can't wait to portray that," he told Den of Geek. "He's just very vulnerable and truthful, and grounded in his faith. I think it's something new though that we'll see. But as I said, all of the traditional things that we want in it—it's still there. Hint, hint."

As for Angel, played by Ben Hardy, he will become one of Mystique's adversaries and one of the villain Apocalypse's Four Horseman, recruited to help him cleanse mankind and start a new world order. It is up to the X-Men, including the new students, to stop them.

Other new cast members include Game of ThronesSophie Turner, who plays the telepath Jean Grey, Lana Condor as Jubilee and Tye Sheridan as Cyclops.

X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 27.
