That's because the designer gathered up a white hot girl gang to wear his duds at the 2016 Met Gala. And that includes Cindy Crawford, which officially makes her the chicest member of the Balmain Army. The supermodel stepped out on the red carpet alongside Rousteing and straight up stunned thanks to the shiny metallic gown. It's no surprise, of course, seeing as Cindy is a veteran at the springtime affair—she knows how to work the steps of the Met!
Her designer (and date for the evening) gave fans a sneak peek of the glittery look on his Instagram earlier today, posting a shadowy shot of a (at the time) mysterious woman getting her makeup done, floor-length disco ball-inspired gown and all.
"SHE IS GETTING READY," he wrote, before adding hashtags #HONORED, #HISTORY and #BALMAINARMY. The latter is of course a reference to Rousteing's inspiring group of women who love to wear his pieces, including all of the Kardashian/Jenner sisters. And, for the record, tonight the Balmain Army includes Kylie Jenner's boyfriend Tyga, as well.
For Cindy's part, she told E!'s Catt Sadler that she was so excited to be part of the girl gang, and that being Olivier's plus-one was impressing someone you might not expect. "It definitely gave me cool points with my daughter," she said with a laugh.
"She was like, you don't even appreciate what a big deal it is that you're going," Crawford said. "So I told her that she'll have her turn to go."
That's right, even Kaia Gerber has to wait her turn to attend the Met Ball. Life isn't that unfair after all.
