Does Adam Sandler have a long lost son? Not quite, but you still won't believe the uncanny resemblance between the comedian and his younger doppelgänger.

The 49-year-old actor recently learned that he shares a striking resemblance to a 23-year-old accountant, Max Kessler, from New York. Kessler has said that people joked he looked like the comedian for as long as he could remember; "As I am getting older [closer to Sandler's age when he played Happy Gilmore in 1996] people are noticing it more and more," he tells ABC News.

According to Kessler, the resemblance doesn't just stop at his looks. "People say I look like him, act like him and sound like him. The amount of people that are freaked out when they first meet me is crazy." Even freakier? In Sandler's upcoming film, The Do-Over, the actor plays a character named Max Kessler. When a friend first made the connection to the real Kessler, he couldn't believe it.

"I thought it was fake at first," he says. "I called my mom and said this has to be a prank, but soon realized it wasn't. I started laughing."

After realizing the bizarre coincidence, one of Kessler's friends posted a side-by-side image of him next to an image of Sandler on Reddit. The post made its way to Sandler, who then began a correspondence with Kessler via a series of photos that showed him holding a poster with captions on them.

After some back and forth, the Ridiculous 6 star actually invited his look-alike to the premiere of the new film. The most recent image shows Sandler holding a poster that reads, "OK! You can come party with the better Max Kessler at the Do-Over Premiere on May 16th! Rock 'n Roll!"

Kessler says he's excited to meet his counterpart at the premiere, even joking that he's willing and ready to play Sandler's son in a future movie role, "I'm ready for Happy Gilmore 2."
