UPDATE: According to a new statement from George Clooney, the actor says he never gave this interview to the magazine.

"Hello Magazine has printed an 'EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW' with me that has been widely picked up and reprinted. Outlets like Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, The Sun, and The Evening Standard have all printed my exclusive interview and credited Hello Magazine. The problem is that I have not given an interview to Hello Magazine and the quotes attributed to me are not accurate," he said. "In my experience, being misquoted is not unusual but to have an "exclusive interview" completely fabricated is something new. And a very disturbing trend."

In response, the magazine issued the following statement:

"HELLO! Magazine and the HELLO! Group are very dismayed by Mr George Clooney's statement that an interview with him that was published by the HELLO! Group is not authentic. The HELLO! Group bought the interview in good faith from a respectable independent agent, Famous, with whom it has dealt for many years and the agency and its writer were both credited at the end of the article in HELLO! Magazine as is customary. Purchase was on the unquestionable understanding that the interview and material were correct and accurate in all respects.

In the meantime, the HELLO! Group can only express its deepest respect for both Mr Clooney and his wife, Amal, and its sincere commitment to respectable and accurate journalism."

They may be one of the most celebrated Hollywood couples of all time, but even high-profile stars George Clooney and Amal Clooney have to deal with the struggles of long distance just like the rest of us.

After hitting the year-and-a-half mark on their marriage, the Oscar winner and international barrister are continuously separated by the distances their work takes them. Amal works as a legal advocate of Doughty Street Chambers in Britain, but could also be called to a case somewhere around the world while George can also be needed virtually anywhere at any given time for a film. Still, in order to keep the flames burning when they're separated by thousands of miles, the twosome sticks to a simple standard.

"We have a rule whereby we are never apart for more than a week," the Money Monster actor told Hello! (via UsWeekly). "We also stay in touch via social media, so we try to keep close even if we're in different parts of the world."

Wait, so does this mean George and Amal have secret Facebook accounts? *Frantically searching*

It does help being two of the biggest names in their given fields—with plump bank accounts—to make the distance a bit easier to navigate.

"We have a place in London now where it's easy for us to spend a lot of time together and I can work on new film projects — writing, reading scripts," Clooney continued. "Or we can go to Lake Como or spend time in Los Angeles when I need to have meetings for my acting work, or hang around with some of my friends."

While it can be exhausting jetting around between time zones, the actor is happy to be sharing his life with his "good friend."

"It takes some planning, but it's actually been working out very well for us," Clooney revealed. "We have a very strong connection and she's an extraordinary woman doing great work. . .We're both committed and share a common concern for causes like the refugee crisis, but what really brings us together as a couple is the fact that we're good friends and we enjoy each other's company."

Ultimately, what more could any couple ever ask for?
