Alicia Keys might be married to Swizz Beatz, but this Valentine's Day she's hoping to celebrate with House Speaker Paul Ryan.
The "Girl on Fire" released a very steamy Valentine's Day video to the 46-year-old handsome politician, saying she would be his valentine in exchange for a vote on criminal justice reform. Keys, 35, really knows how to be persuasive. "I recently saw a picture of you working out, and I was like, 'Mmmmm,'" she says in the video. "I never saw the Speaker of the House working out before. He must be cool."
Keys asks the politico to show her "how cool" he is by bringing up the issue in front of President Barack Obama before he leaves office. "In fact you can even maybe be my valentine if you help me spread some love," she says. "Help bring justice reform to a vote so we can keep families together...Can you do that Paul? I know you can."
Ooh la la.
She reveals the personal Valentine's Day card that she wrote to him and asks everyone write him a note on her social justice group's, We Are Here Movement's, website. "You're welcome in advance for the thousands of love notes that are coming your way," she says, with a touch of flirting.
The website states: "We only have a few months left to pass criminal justice reform under President Obama, and Speaker Paul Ryan is one of the few people who can help make it happen. Join Alicia and fill out the form on the right to send Speaker Ryan a real-life Valentine asking him to let Congress vote on reform."
She ends her video by blowing him a kiss.
In a news conference Thursday, Ryan said he supports a series of bipartisan criminal justice reform bills that have passed through the House Judiciary Committee, but added that he didn't have a timetable for their vote on the floor.
Maybe a little love from Keys will speed the process along.
