Watch: Why Melanie Griffith Still Hasn't Watch "Fifty Shades"

It's been almost a year since Fifty Shades of Grey hit theaters and Melanie Griffith, mother of its leading lady Dakota Johnson, has finally watched part of the movie.

No, not that part. Nope, not that part either. In fact, no parts of any kind were featured in the footage she's seen.

The R-rated, BDSM-themed movie is based on the first novel in E.L. James' best-selling erotic trilogy. Fifty Shades of Grey marks Griffith's daughter's major big screen debut and features scenes in which she appears naked and takes part in questionable sexual activities.

Griffith, 58, told E! News' Zuri Hall she has seen "a little bit" of the film, adding, "I just can't quite bring myself to watch the love scenes." She made her comments at the Stella McCartney autumn 2016 presentation in Hollywood on Tuesday.

Johnson, 26, appears next in the new comedy How to Be Single, which is set for release just before Valentine's Day.

"I'm going to see that one," Griffith said.

Griffith had told IndieWire in 2014 she has not seen Fifty Shades of Grey and did not think she would.

"Would you want to see your child having sex like that? Just regular sex, I couldn't do that. But the 'room of pain' sex? I definitely couldn't do that!" she told reporters at Clive Davis' 2015 Grammys party.

Meanwhile, Fifty Shades of Grey has been nominated for six Razzies, which include Worst Actress and Worst Actor nods for Johnson and co-star Jamie Dornan, at the annual Golden Raspberry Awards, which honor the worst in film.

Griffith had said at the 2015 Oscars that Johnson is "a really good actress" and that she does not need to watch Fifty Shades of Grey to "know how good she is."

Johnson and Dornan, 33, will reprise their roles as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey in the sequel, Fifty Shades Darker, which is set for release in 2017.
