Want to see a snippet of The 100 season three premiere? It has been approximately 10 years since we've gotten a new episode, so we'll take what we can get. (OK, fine, it's been since March. But still!) How about a musical snippet? As E! News exclusively reported this summer, Shawn Mendes is stopping by the CW's underrated post-apocalyptic drama The 100 for a guest role in the season premiere, and now you can see a clip of the singer in action.

The viral star-turned-radio hitmaker (he sings the "Stitches" song you still can't get out of your head) plays a young Ark survivor who barters his musical talents for leniency when he gets caught attempting to steal something.

Check out Mendes in his first acting role in the clip above! In case you worried whether it would be cheesy or weird (don't pretend it's not sometimes SUPER AWKWARD when they work bands and singers into TV shows), it's totally not. Kid's got a great voice, he should think about a career in singing or something.

"Shawn is a big fan of the show, and reached out to me on Twitter about potentially working together," executive producer Jason Rothenberg told E! News when the casting news broke. "He's a very talented artist, and we knew we wanted to do something special and different for the premiere. Shawn gave us a unique opportunity and I can't wait for our fans to see our collaboration."

The 100 season three premieres Thursday, Jan. 21 at 9 p.m. on the CW.
