Craig Strickland's widow, Helen Strickland, discovered a heartwarming love letter from her late husband to her on their wedding day.

Helen shared a photo of the letter on Instagram and told followers that this "treasure" is helping her find the light during a dark time. "Today I found this precious treasure Craig wrote for me to read on the day of our wedding. The Lord is good always...I know this because in the most heart aching moments, when it seems too difficult to bare, God knows just how to make me smile," she captioned it. "'I almost wrote Greg?' - Lol, oh #craigstrickland, how I love you."

The letter itself is an adorable message of love and hope on the day Craig and Helen vowed to spend their lives together. Addressed to Helen (my love), Craig wrote, "I can't believe the time is finally here where I get to be the luckiest person in the world and become your life partner forever. You are someone that I could never have even placed in my wildest dreams as becoming my wife."

Craig's letter mentioned some of his favorite things about his partner-to-be and how she makes him a better man. "I love your smile and how you laugh at my one-liner comments," he continued. "I love how much you care about getting the food you cook for me to be exactly the right taste."

Craig and his friend Chase Morland went missing Dec. 28, 2015, after their boat capsized during a duck-hunting trip in Kaw Lake, Okla. Authorities first discovered Morland's body, and seven days later they found Craig's. New details surrounding Craig's death emerged Tuesday. He was found about a quarter mile away from where Morland was discovered. Chase was found in his camoflauge gear, which Oklahoma Highway Patrol Marine Enforcement Division said contributed to the difficulty of the search.

Helen and the couple's dog, Sam, recently attended Morland's memorial service. "We had the opportunity to go to Chase Morland's visitation tonight," Helen wrote on Instagram on Tuesday, alongside a photo of herself with Sam and two other people. "He was so loved by so many people. It was encouraging to be around his wonderful friends and family.

"Sam was also invited," she said. "He has truly been a comfort to all of us. We are so thankful the Lord blessed us with such a extraordinary pup."
