New Spider-Man Tom Holland Wants to Talk to Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire

Tom Holland is looking forward to the day he can finally sit down and a have a heart-to-heart with his Spider-Man predecessors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire.

"I'd love to talk to them, [but] less about the movie and more about how their lives changed once they made the films just because if would be nice for me to have some sort of help on that," Holland, 19, told E! News at the New York premiere of his new Ron Howard-directed epic drama In the Heart of the Sea (in theaters Dec. 11) co-starring Thor Chris Hemsworth.

It was announced in June that Holland landed the starring superhero role in Sony's upcoming Spider-Man reboot.

Holland's first film as Peter Parker and Spider-Man doesn't hit theaters until July 28, 2017, and will be directed by Jon Watts. He'll make his debut as Spider-Man in next year's Captain America: Civil War.

Asked about his training for the role, Holland cracked, "I'm no Chris Hemsworth, let's put that out there."

He added, "I train every day but I do that anyway even without Spider-Man. But when Spider-Man gets closer I'm sure it will be a more intense regimen and it will be a very specific thing because obviously they want me to look a certain way. But at the moment it's just about having fun."

Maguire launched the franchised in 1999. Garfield took on the webslinger for two movies in 2012 and 2104.

Garfield told E! News is August he's excited to see Holland take on the iconic role. "He's just a brilliant actor," the 99 Homes star said, adding, "I can't wait to watch. I just can't wait to be a fan again and just watch and enjoy myself watching."
