If you're worried about Pretty Little Liars ending forever, we've got good news: it's probably not.

Even if the series takes a bow after a possibly final seventh season, Marlene King is giving us serious hope for a follow-up movie.

The boss of all things Pretty Little Liars joined Good Morning America's 40 for 40 livestream to celebrate the morning show's 40th anniversary this evening and spilled a bit about what's to come on the ABC Family series, including a possible movie.

"We've got some really big ideas for a great PLL movie, but that won't happen right after the series ends," King shared on the live stream. "I think we'll take a little break and let everybody go off and do a few things and hopefully we'll come back together again and do something really special."

Even before the second half of season six debuts, there's been a lot of talk of season seven being the last, and most of that talk is coming directly from the mouths of the cast members. (See the below video.)

"It's only got a seventh season," Troian Bellisario told E! News at the Pretty Little Liars PaleyFest panel earlier this year. "Yeah, that's it, we're done after this."

While most of the rest of the cast and producers—including Marlene herself—are adopting more of a "we'll see" attitude towards that final season, there's no denying that the show has outgrown its original roots, both literally and figuratively.

After finally revealing the identity of A (surprise! It was Alison's secret transgender sister Charlotte!), PLL will be jumping ahead five years when it returns in January.

"The girls you last saw on Pretty Little Liars are really not girls anymore," King says. "They're grown up, very mature young women leading very interesting lives, and they're about to come back to Rosewood again. Of course, it's Pretty Little Liars, so they do come back with some secrets and some lies."

Marlene wouldn't spill much more than we already know about where the girls are in the future, but she did (correctly) promise that next week's Pretty Little Liars holiday special will explain pretty much everything you need to know.

"It fills in the gaps," she says. "We're giving fans a lot of information about what happened between the last time you saw the pretty little liars and when you're going to see them in the future."

King also explains that the second half of season six is designed for new fans as well as old fans.

"Now we're starting this whole new story with new secrets, new lies, and it's a great time to jump into the show."

Finally, King also gave a little glimmer of hope to some fans of one of the show's most popular couples: Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn).

"I won't quote a famous line of Spencer Hastings, which is hope leads to eternal misery, so I won't say that, but I will say I love Haleb, I ship Haleb, and there's always hope for Haleb, always."

The Pretty Little Liars special, called "Five Years Forward," airs next Tuesday at 8 p.m. on ABC Family, and Pretty Little Liars officially returns Tuesday, Feb. 12, after ABC Family rebrands to Freeform.
