"Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting have mutually decided to end their marriage," Cuoco's rep told E! News in a statement on Friday. "They ask for privacy at this time. No further statement will be issued regarding this matter."
Since the split, the Big Bang Theory beauty has been filling her time by hanging with friends and even adopting a new horse (Cuoco is an avid equestrian), but many are still perplexed as to why the former lovebirds, who were never shy about parading their affection for each other on social media, decided to pull the plug less than two years after saying I-do.
So, what really went wrong between the 29-year-old actress and the 28-year-old tennis player?
A source tells E! News that it all came down to lifestyle differences and reveals Cuoco was the one to end the marriage.
The insider adds that Kaley, who has since stripped her Instagram of all pics of Ryan, is ready for a fresh start and wants the divorce to be over quickly so she can move on.
It seems the actress won't have any trouble doing just that, as it was revealed on Monday that the former couple have a prenup in place. According to court documents obtained by E! News, a prenuptial agreement was signed on Nov. 20, 2013; no further details were released.
Cuoco, who listed Sept. 3 as the date of separation, checked "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. She and Sweeting wed on Dec. 31, 2013.
Earlier this week, Cuoco, who has also removed her wedding ring, thanked her family and friends for their support on Instagram.
"I have the greatest friends and family on this earth!!" she captioned a cute collage of her loved ones.
