Earlier today, E! News confirmed that Leighton Meester and Adam Brody have welcomed their first child together, and now, we can reveal additional details about the birth—including the wee one's name.
The former Gossip Girl star welcomed daughter Arlo Day Brody on August 4 at 12:12 a.m. at Whittier Hospital in Whittier, Calif. The notoriously private couple has not commented publicly on the birth of their baby girl.
Brody and Meester are pros at staying out their public eye. Not only did they manage to keep the birth of their daughter under wraps for almost two months before media caught wind of the occasion, but they also surprised us all by tying the knot in a top-secret ceremony in February 2014.
Additionally, fans weren't able to spy the Gossip Girl alumna's glowing baby bump until early July when Meester (who, at the time, was ready to pop!) was spotted grabbing a bite to eat in Los Angeles with a girlfriend.
The 29-year-old That's My Boy star and the 35-year-old O.C. actor got engaged in November, just nine months after it was first revealed they were an item. The couple, who starred in the 2014 film Life Partners together, met on the set of 2011's The Oranges.
While Meester and Brody have never spoken about each other publicly, the brunette stunner previously revealed to InStyle U.K. that her priorities have changed significantly since tying the knot.
"My values have shifted greatly in terms of what I find important," she shared. "It's my family, my friends and having a personal life. Those are the things that need nurturing."
Although we may never know the significance of little Arlo's name, her birth is extremely significant to both the Gossip Girl and the O.C. fandoms.
Case in point? Gossip Girl fans are over the moon about Blair Waldorf (Meester) and Serena van der Woodsen (actress Blake Lively gave birth to daughter James just before the New Year in 2014) finally being mommies at the same time while O.C. fan are reveling in the fact that Seth Cohen (Brody) and Ryan Atwood (actor Ben Mackenzie is expecting a child with Gotham co-star Morena Baccarin) are both becoming fathers.
