Kendall Jenner rarely talks about the private goings-on in her family, but that's all changing—for the time being.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and her family constantly tweet, Instagram and even post videos on Periscope, but despite their highly active social media presence, they all like to keep certain aspects a secret. The 19-year-old supermodel opens up to Women's Wear Daily about how and why she protects certain aspects of her life and also opens up about not only Caitlyn Jenner's transition, but her own transition with dealing with it.

When it comes to social media, Kendall knows that for every 10 nice comments, there will always be a brutal one. So instead of letting it get to her, she just opts out of looking at the comment section. "I don't need it to affect my life. So I'd rather just not look at anything," Kendall says of social media.

"You can get a million comments about how beautiful you look and how awesome you are, but the one comment that says they hate you and you're ugly is the one that sticks."

But growing up in the limelight has had some perks, like making her used to having every one of her actions dissected. Unlike her older sisters, she learned at a young age how to handle the constant media attention. "My little sister and I got used to it at an easy pace. It's been normal for us since we were babies," she explains. "We were never afraid of it, of a big crowd and a lot of people. We always understood the idea that it came with the fame."

(With the release of her Vanity Fair cover, Caitlyn has chosen to identify publicly as a woman and E! News will refer to her using female pronouns. In stories published before this date, she was referred to as Bruce Jenner and male pronouns were used.)

Even though she says tabloid fodder is "normal," it hasn't made it any easier, especially when it comes to the constant attention surrounding Caitlyn.

"It would probably be different for someone who didn't have to live it through the media," she says. "But it's been a ride, for sure. It's an adjustment. It's something you have to get used to. But I've known since I was a kid. He never confirmed it to me, but I've known for a very long time. It's the same person. My dad says it herself sometimes, it's kind of like mourning the loss of someone, because it is."

She continues, "My dad is my dad, but he's not there physically anymore. But she lets me call her dad — that's the last little piece of dad I've got."

Now that Forbes has named her one of the highest-earning models in her field, Kendall couldn't be more grateful for the opportunities that come her way, especially her Estée Lauder contract, which she says is her "stamp of approval."
