Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy reunited last night…but unfortunately for all you Muppet fans, it was not romantically. In fact, it was quite the opposite.

Kermit and Piggy had a bit of a tense reunion on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday night, getting together after their breakup in August to talk about their upcoming show.

Of course, the gathering did not come without some awkward moments.

Kimmel kicked it off, asking what caused the breakup in the first place. "You always seemed so happily unhappy together," the late night host notes.

"Well, Piggy and I had a great relationship for many, many years, and we sort of wanted different things," Kermit answers.

Piggy adds with an annoyed tone, "It's the usual laundry list. You know, put the lid down, closing the refrigerator door, not doing that dishes while taking a bath in the sink!"

While the reason for their split sounds like something we'd hear from any normal couple, the Internet's reaction was anything but, creating more headlines than breaking world news.

"Anything that happens to me is going to be front page news," Piggy explains nonchalantly. "I'm sort of like the Donald Trump of love. Everything I do is huge!"

"And therein lies some of the problem," Kermit couldn't help himself from commenting.

Meanwhile, the famous frog has found himself a new girlfriend since the split, moving on with another piggy named Denise who Kermit notes is "not a famous person" but "one of the heads of marketing at ABC."

"She looks to be young. She looks to be just a little piglet," Kimmel says while looking at a photo of Kermit's new lady.

"Well, she's old enough, but not as old as she could be," Kermit responds, adding a little jab toward Piggy.

Unfortunately for the glamorous pig, she has been looking for love but can't seem to find it, remarking that she has to be picky these days after her split from Kermit.

"I have a rigorous application process before anyone can date me," she explains before looking at her ex-boyfriend. "I wish I had those in place before I met you."

Ouch! But Kimmel is positive she will find love soon, even saying she'd "make a great Bachelorette."

But until ABC figures that out, perhaps a dating website would be beneficial?

"Miss Piggy, if you're looking for somebody… We put something together for you on Tinder," Kimmel says before reading the profile they made for her. "'Looking for guys into stys, let's get this pig in a blanket!'"

LOL!

However, despite the fact that both Muppets are moving on, Kimmel can't help but wish for them to rekindle at the end of the interview.

"It's great to have you guys back together, even if you're not back together, you know what I'm saying," he says. "Is there any chance you guys could kiss and make up right here on the show?"

"Absolutely not," the both answer in unison, reminding us all that love is officially dead.

Check out the tense interview above and stay tuned for the Muppets season premiere on ABC tonight at 8/7c.
