Ryan Reynolds is one doting dad—with a hilarious sense of humor.

The 38-year-old hunk, whose wife Blake Lively gave birth to daughter James eight months ago, stopped by Live! With Kelly and Michael this morning, where he gave an update on the couple's baby girl.

"She's good. She didn't sleep last night. First fever," the new dad spilled before reassuring the audience, "It's normal, it's fine!"

He continued, sharing why the incident became a traumatizing experience.

"How I found out was that I was told you need to check her temperature through the rectum," he said. "I was like 'No! It can't be!' There's a mouth, there's an armpit, there's gotta be something. And the doctor's just like 'No, no one of you guys distract her and the other one do it she'll be fine."

"They always notice though, no matter how many hand puppets you put up there, they're like 'what is that'" Kelly Ripa, who has three children of her own, chimed in.

"I know!" Reynolds agreed, "I mean, you can't distract from that."

And then came Reynolds' signature sarcastic humor: "Seriously, you could shove YoYo Ma's chello in my mouth and I would still be like 'what is back there?!'"

"It was terrifying though," he continued, admitting, "It all went well, though. I didn't lose it, but you can't help but think 'this is going to leave a lasting mark.' Like I'm going to be walking her down the aisle years from now and she's going to go [whispers] 'I know what you did.'"

In addition to his appearance on Live! With Kelly and Michael, Blake Lively's better half opens up about fatherhood in the latest issue of GQ.

"You know, I like it: I mean that in the heaviest context. I genuinely like it. I like being a father. I like having a daughter. I would like to have more kids. You know, it seems to suit me pretty well," he shared.

Is it already time for baby No. 2?!
