The Inside Amy Schumer star, who is nominated for four awards at the 2015 Emmys, revealed to E! News' Ryan Seacrest that she's "a groupie" for the iconic singer, which is why she and BFF Jennifer Lawrence made a surprise appearance during his Chicago concert to sing along and dance barefoot to "Uptown Girl."
"Honestly, Billy Joel, I've been a groupie for years, just touring with him, riding the van, putting out," Schumer said on the red carpet.

Of course, Schumer was joking (we think!), as she explained his music actually played a big part in her hit movie Trainwreck, and Joel himself invited her on stage when she attended the concert with her family, Lawrence and Inside Amy Schumer writer Kyle Dunnigan. "He said, ‘Why don't you come up and sing ‘Uptown Girl'?" As for Lawrence's part in the piano dance, Schumer, who was joined on the red carpet by her sister Kim Caramele, who is a writer and producer on Schumer's show, said, "I was like, ‘You have to come up with me!' And she was like, ‘Are you sure?! And I was like, ‘I am!' So that's it!"
And Schumer (looking gorgeous in Zac Posen) wanted everyone to know it was not her idea to get on the piano, saying, "That was their idea. Look, I'm not trying to get onto high surfaces. I like things on the ground. I weight a buck and fifty, let's keep me low."
While they danced on Joel's piano together, it sounds like Lawrence, who is working on a movie script with Schumer, may have some competition, as Schumer revealed she met Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany just before the interview, saying, "I just attacked her. We met, we're in love!"
