Johnny Depp and Amber Heard reunited in the public eye with a vengeance this past month.

Despite the stories of dog-smuggling and quarantine snafus and eating said dogs emanating from Australia this summer, the relative newlyweds hadn't actually been seen together in five months before they hit the red carpet on Sept. 4 at the Venice Film Festival for the Black Mass premiere.

And how about those two?! They couldn't keep their hands off each other, effectively shutting up anyone who, surprised in the first place that they made it all the way to the altar, was skeptical that these two could go the distance.

Yes, it's only been seven months. But we've seen shorter. And in some cases, seven months can seem like seven years when your courtship was plagued with rumors of imminent collapse.

But maybe they're just back in the movie-star groove and are taking whatever was previously behind the scenes this year front and center. Depp's latest, the Whitey Bulger thriller Black Mass, looks like the opposite of Mortdecai (i.e. impressive); Heard is in The Danish Girl, which is already getting Oscar buzz; and theoretically they still should be in the honeymoon period.

We can look at their PDA parade in a few ways: Either they remain utterly entranced with each other and were thrilled to resume their great love affair with the masses; or they were pouring it on extra thick, figuring, "sure we're hot for each other, but look how they just eat us up. We're even taking a boat ride." Or this is just their day-to-day, nothing more-than-usual or excessive about it.

In all scenarios, however, Amber and Johnny have a hot little secret, and they're sticking it to it.

After making a splash in Venice, it was off to the Toronto International Film Festival, where both of their films were screening and both stars were hugely in demand.

Their hands and lips.

Mr. and Mrs. Hottie Van Hottenstein seem to be back in action, taking at least taking Venice and Toronto by storm. But will they keep it up when they're back in the States (which they should be by now, because Depp is expected at a Boston screening of Black Mass tonight)? Time will tell if exotic locales (they also spent lots of time in Australia this year while Johnny was shooting the latest Pirates of the Caribbean sequel) help rev their engines or if the comforts of their home country suffice in the excitement department.
