Robbie Chernow is having a party! Well, a party for one.

The New York resident was hoping to celebrate his friend Jake Katz's bachelor party in Chicago during the extended Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, there was one big problem.

The groom-to-be and the rest of the wedding party got stranded at the airport and couldn't make it to the windy city. Uhhh, awkward.

Instead of flying home, however, Chernow decided to take in all the sights and sounds of Chicago by himself and document his journey on Instagram with #ChicagoForOne. The results have now made him an Internet sensation.

Throughout the weekend, Chernow went to a Chicago Bears game, visited Wrigley Field and stepped foot on Navy Pier.

But no matter where he traveled, many strangers couldn't help but point out that Chernow was alone. While stopping by Portillo's restaurant, one of the employees delivered some hilarious advice to the tourist.

"According to Theresa, ‘These sandwiches are normally meant to be shared, but you seem sad enough to finish one by yourself,'" Chernow recalled. "Thanks, Theresa!"

Others like Ray were more optimistic about Chernow's situation. The water taxi captain told his passenger that, "You must live in order to keep the bachelor party dream alive." Wise words, sir.

As the journey continued, more and more Instagram users began following Chernow's profile. In fact, he gained close to 14,000 followers in just one weekend.

Although he wishes the trip wasn't so lonely, Chernow is amazed at the warmth and generosity of Chicago residents.

Besides, the groom was able to arrive Friday night where he was invited to visit another Chicago Cubs game when all of his crew can be in town at the same time.

"Thank you, Chicago for taking me under your wing the last four days. Your food, attractions & most importantly, people are truly second to none," he wrote on Instagram. "You adopted me in my time of need and for that I am forever grateful. As for now, I can't wait for my next #adventureforone."
