Rihanna is all about the idea of Kanye West running for president in 2020!

The 27-year-old songstress chatted with E! News at the launch of her fragrance RiRi by Rihanna on Monday—wearing a prom-inspired Vivienne Westwood confection—and explained she was bummed over missing Kanye's Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award speech at the 2015 MTV Music Video Awards on Sunday.

"I did watch! I did watch! I wish I could have been there. But my home girl got married in New York so I couldn't, but it was great," she says about Kanye's 13-minute long acceptance speech. "I love seeing him like that. I love seeing him in that raw, honest state."

Of course we couldn't help but ask if she plans to vote for him. "We'll see!" she answered with a smile. "2020? I hope he really does!"

Rihanna missed the big show because she was attending good friend and stylist Sonya Benson's wedding in New York this weekend.

"Yasss!!!! Congrats to my beautiful and crazy @sonyabens on tying da knot!!!" Rihanna wrote on Instagram on Saturday, alongside a pic of Benson talking on a cell phone in her wedding gown. "F--king love you girl!!! James you the real mvp doe! #jimmysonz."

Insiders tell E! News, "Rihanna gave a fun, emotional speech. She talked about their relationship, how they met when she was 17 and that Sonya was one of the first friends she made that really influenced her in fashion."

RiRi also performed "Bitch Better Have My Money" during the wedding and led guests into doing the Macarena and dancing along to "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)."

"They were just really having a fun time," our source shared. "They were the life of the party."

Though she had a blast at the wedding, she did miss the VMAs and Kanye's passionate speech, at the end of which he dropped the bomb about running for president in 2020.

"And, yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for President," West concluded his speech/vent session before literally dropping the mic.

Though everyone laughed in the moment, tons of people took to Twitter after the speech to show their support for the presidential hopeful, and it looks like Rihanna's another person to add to the ever-growing list!
