Brooke Shields shares the September 2015 cover of Better Homes and Gardens with—what else?!—her chic Long Island abode, and this east coast retreat is one you'll want to set your eyes on.

The supermodel welcomes us into her quirky-meets-quaint home, which features muted neutrals mixed with bright pops of color throughout ("A little color goes a long way," she dished to the mag), as well as eclectic furniture from the estate sales, auctions and flea markets she frequents. She and her TV writer husband Chris Henchy purchased the home in 2013 for $4.3 million (the couple has two daughters, Rowan and Grier). And, as if we weren't already impressed, Brooke took on the interior decoration process—get this—by herself.

"I love rooms filled with pieces that tell a story, that have history, that have been well-loved," Brooke said of her '20s-era cottage, which, to match that sentiment, includes many items passed down from her equally decorating-inclined mother.

Featuring six bedrooms, six full bathrooms, two half baths, a library, media room and freshwater heated pool over half an acre of land, the supermodel's "cottage," while quaint, isn't diminutive in the slightest. Many of the home's rooms feature luxe La-Z-Boy chairs (Brooke has been a brand representative since 2010).

The beachy living room, meanwhile, features classic by-the-sea touches like French doors, a cream knit throw blanket and sand-colored rug. Cobalt, yellow and citrine green accessories adorn the room, while a see-through coffee table in the center adds a cool, modern touch.

Is there anything cleaner and more comfortable than an all-white kitchen? (Not in this house.) Brooke's cooking area is kicked up a notch with a glossy subway tile backsplash.

The model legend's scenic outdoor set-up is perfect for entertaining family and close friends (really, we've probably never seen a sweeter back patio).

"I make a super refreshing cucumber vodka with muddled lime and agave," she said. "I love it when we are all on the front porch and friends ride their bikes over with a bottle of wine."

Brooke's office is not only visually pleasing (plus chock-full of meaningful family mementos)—the mommy-time area also lends to creativity: She penned most of her memoir, There Once Was a Little Girl, in the space.

Our only question now: When can we visit?
