One heckler's wish is Ryan Adams' command...more than 12 years later, that is.

The 40-year-old musician finally performed the Canadian rocker (and almost-name-twin) Bryan Adams' song "Summer of '69" at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium Tuesday.

The "magical" performance came years after Adams—Ryan, that is—released one fan from his show after the attendee repeatedly requested for the singer-songwriter to perform the '80s song. It seems like the heckler had a sense of humor that the former leader of the band Whiskeytown didn't find very funny.

Billboard stated: "At a Ryan Adams concert Tuesday night at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, someone in the audience yelled out a request for 'Summer of '69,' a Bryan Adams hit. Ryan Adams, former leader of the band Whiskeytown, reacted with stream of expletives and ordered the house lights turned on, The Tennessean newspaper reported."

And years after the incident, the "Gimme Something Good" singer has proven he's got a sense of humor and knows how to handle a joke. In a video recording of the performance, cheers could be heard from Tuesday's crowd as the singer made the transition to his cover of the song.

Ryan, who recently split from actress Mandy Moore, performed his own rendition of "Summer of '69"—giving the '80s anthem a more acoustic spin—fitting with the song's lyrics of nostalgia and love.

And it turned out to be one crowd pleaser! Check out the "magical" performance for yourself.
