Get ready to sip on a mint julep and place your bets, because the 2015 Kentucky Derby is this weekend!

While there's nothing wrong with kicking back and enjoying the races, there's one portion of the Derby that we're more excited for than anything else—the hats! Whether they be floppy wide-brimmed versions or classically over-the-top fascinators, there's really no better time to sport a topper than the Kentucky Derby (unless you're Kate Middleton, that is).

Since we won't be attending the Derby, we're celebrating instead by whipping out our favorite summer hats. So go on—check out these drool-worthy picks!

Quintain Floppy Sun Hat Natural, $25

"My usual summer topper of choice is a fedora, but since I'm hitting up quite a few destination beaches this year I decided to go all out with this Prima Donna supersize sun hat."—Cinya Burton, Style Senior Editor

Forever 21 Chained Wool Fedora in Navy, $20

"I struck gold at Forever 21 (again) with this navy wide-brim hat featuring a gunmetal chain just above the rim. Yes, it's wool—and yes I'll be wearing it through spring and summer with airy floral rompers (like this Zimmermann playsuit) and distressed white denim. As Jim Carrey once said, 'Somebody stop me!'"—Nicole Adlman, Style Writer

Seafolly Royale Floppy Hat, $52

"Nothing beats a beautiful hat in lending a touch of sophistication to your Derby look. This straw number from Seafolly is absolutely perfect for a day out at the races, and the wire brim means I can actually see when my horse is winning and when my champagne glass needs refilling."—Jacqueline Lee, Photo Editor

Lucky Brand's Woven Fedora, $40

"I never cared for fedoras until I saw Stacy Keibler wearing a collection of them last summer. It was during her pregnancy, and the way she styled them with beachy-boho looks or even ultra-glam outfits just made up my mind: Fedoras are a must! This Lucky Brand version is your ideal go-to fedora because it's lightweight, versatile and classically chic."—Lindsey Sirera, Style Intern
