All hail the new Khaleesi: Kristen Wiig!
Rather than appear as herself during NBC's Tonight Show Wednesday, the actress got into character as Emilia Clarke's character on HBO's Game of Thrones. Wiig has no affiliation with the series, making her decision to dress up as Daenerys Targaryen even funnier.
Jimmy Fallon didn't introduce her by her full title—Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of Meereen, Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons—but he was thrilled to have her on the show nevertheless. "What an honor this is!"
"Thank you so much," Wiig said, using an accent.
"This is so exciting for me," Fallon said. "Khaleesi, of course, means queen."
"Yes it does," she said.
"Remind me again, what was your real name?" Fallon asked.
"Karen," the Welcome to Me actress deadpanned.
Wiig said she lives "in the forest on a mountain" in "a dome that I made out of dirt and sticks." Even more impressive? "My dragons helped me build it."
The actress broke character a few times, often laughing at her own ridiculousness.
"Did you lose your accent?" Fallon asked. Wiig laughed, saying, "No!"
Fallon complimented his guest's "beautiful" dress. She thanked him and then pointed to her screen-printed cleavage. "These are my breasts," she joked.
Wiig also introduced Fallon to one of her dragons, named "Carl."
Fallon then asked Wiig to do a round of "rapid fire questions." Through that, he learned that she plays the mandolin, is a stand-up comedian and does magic.
After showing a clip from Welcome to Me, Fallon asked Wiig to perform her "hit" song, "Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful." The actress was caught off-guard, but said, "I'll do it. I might forget the words."
"Hit it, Roots!" Wiig said before ad-libbing the single.
