Sofía Vergara's not the only Modern Family star who gets to pick out a pretty dress for a very special occasion — just ask Ariel Winter!
The 17-year-old actress isn't planning a wedding like Sofía, but she did get all dolled up as she marked another major milestone: Prom. On Tuesday, Ariel Instagrammed a sweet picture of herself and boyfriend Laurent Claude Gaudette before the big dance.
She posted another snap of herself and her father Glenn Workman, who was there to see her off. (In the past, Ariel and her dad have had their differences, but based on this photo, it looks like they've mended their relationship.)
This isn't the first high school dance Ariel's attended this year, either. Back in February, she and Laurent got red carpet ready for winter formal. These more regular teenage events might not seem as exciting as the Hollywood parties Ariel also gets to attend, but for the Modern Family star, they're just as much fun.
She's been looking forward to "normal" stuff like this for a while, actually! Back in 2013, she told Teen Vogue, "I've always wanted to go to a school dance...I hope I get asked."
Looks like that dream came true! Of course, it probably wasn't a huge surprise at this point. Ariel and Laurent have been dating for over a year now, and it seems like things are pretty serious!
When Ariel turned 17 back in March, her singer-songwriter beau posted quite a heartfelt tribute to Instagram. "Since the day we met I've had only incredible memories with you and you've affected me in ways that I will remember for the rest of my life," he gushed. "I couldn't have a more perfect girlfriend. Everywhere I go with you I'm proud to have you by my side."
He went on and on, and while Ariel and Laurent aren't Sofía and Joe Manganiello-level yet, they're very much in the throes of a teenage romance. As Laurent wrote, "With you, I promise to share unfiltered honesty and infinite loyalty because you don't deserve anything less. I can't wait for what is to come in the future. What can I say? You're nothing less than amazing! I love you!"
