Even though One Direction fans still haven't totally gotten over the loss of Zayn Malik, fellow member Liam Payne is trying to appease them by giving them some inside scoop about what's to come from everybody's favorite boy band.

In an interview with the U.K.'s Capital FM Radio, Liam assured Directioners that the band's fifth album is not only on it's way but it also is "coming together really well." This time, however, the group is trying to tackle a different sound so that it can have a longer shelf life. He described it as "a bit Oasis-y, almost, which is ace – love that."

Oasis alum Noel Gallagher is probably cringing somewhere, considering he threw some serious shade at 1D in Rolling Stone. Even though he gets along with the members of the world-famous boy band, he can't support its music.

"They're lovely lads. But I've got to say, I have difficulties with people who don't write their own songs, who've got a team of songwriters who work for your record label," he said.

Don't worry, Liam & Co. You have the rest of the world on your side. Liam also dished that he, Harry StylesLouis Tomlinson and Niall Horan want their music to be similar to Ed Sheeran's, in that it's incredibly versatile.

"The songs are coming out a bit more chill because I think we want this to be quite a long-lasting album that you can listen to any time," he said. "You know, like how Ed's [Sheeran] album, any time you throw on an Ed song, it always makes sense."

If Liam is going to compare 1D's forthcoming album to Oasis and Sheeran, we're going to need this new music ASAP! Too bad it won't be released until late fall, similar to the band's previous four albums.

The "Steal My Girl" singers are also slated to perform at Capital's Summertime Ball 2015, which Liam leaked a little early. Haven't you ever heard of the expression, "Loose lips sink ships," Liam?! The hosts chided him for his faux pas.

"We're calling you 'Leaky Liam!'" said Capital Breakfast Show host Dave Berry. "I have the right mind to take away your place on that stage!"

"Oh, no, don't do that! We're already a man down! Don't do that," Payne joked in response, acknowledging Zayn's absence.
