Only one can claim the top spot

Happy Earth Day, y'all! Today is a day for thanking our planet for all that she's given us. And, more importantly, for letting around us know just how much we're thanking our planet for all that she's given us.

No one is better at that than celebrities. They'll never let a cause go by without taking full advantage, and Earth Day is no exception. All the stars turned out to remind their Twitter and Instagram followers just how much they're doing to support dear ol' Mother Earth. They're walking barefoot in the grass! They're sticking their toes in the ocean! They're planting a tree! And most importantly, they're posting extremely flattering photos of themselves doing all these things.

Since you're probably really busy picking up trash and personally adding snow to all the glaciers, we've rounded up some of the best (and, er, not best) Earth Day commemorative posts—and rated them, of course (from zero to 10 Planet Earths). Because what fun would this be without some healthy competition?

Miley Cyrus:

She wrote a whole bunch of junk that we frankly didn't pay attention to because PUPPY. Eight out of 10 Earths just for the dog.

Ellen DeGeneres:

We absolutely do not recommend petting a squirrel. Three Earths.

Mark Ruffalo:

This makes literally no sense, but it's obvious he wrote this while enjoying the planet's most natural herb of all (cough cough) so we'll give him five Planet Earths.

Gisele Bundchen:

It's Gisele! With a superimposed naturescape! Ten planets because that is pure, unadulterated artistry.

Ellie Goulding:

A haunting image + passionate words + no mention of yourself whatsoever = nine planets.

Windmills? So Earth Day 2014. Four planets.

Jessica Szohr:

?? Happy Earth Day ?? #SaveOurBeach

OMG is that a mermaid or former Gossip Girl actress Jessica Szohr? We literally cannot tell. Seven out ten for mystery and intrigue.

Sarah Jessica Parker:

We love you, SJP, but we see right through your shameless self-promotion masquerading as Earth Day sentiment, girl. Two planets.

Nicole Richie:

Our home. Our mother. Our Earth. #HappyEarthDay ?????

Thanks for the motion sickness, Nicole Richie. But whatever, four out of ten.

Melissa Joan Hart:

All the slow claps (and Planet Earths) in the world for this.
