Was Madonna caught texting during an off-Broadway play?!

Just the other day, reports hit the web claiming the 56-year-old singer was caught engaging in some poor theater etiquette while attending Saturday night's production of the hip-hop musical Hamilton at the Public Theater in NYC. According to the same reports, Hamilton actor and composer Lin-Manuel Miranda later tweeted then deleted, "Tonight was the first time I asked stage management NOT to allow a celebrity (who was texting all through Act 2) backstage #noselfieforyou."

Yikes! So what does the Queen of Pop have to say about the texting allegations?

"Madonna was not texting throughout the show and she was indeed invited backstage four separate times—before during and after the show, which she loved by the way," Madonna's rep tells E! News in a statement

Although the "Living for Love" crooner denies any bad behavior, a theater source told People, "It was definitely her. She was texting, I believe, although at one point she also pulled out a Blackberry. She was also 20 minutes late and caused quite a stir getting to her seat."

The source adds that Madonna did stop playing with her phone after another audience member yelled "Shut it off!" during the finale.

This isn't the first time Madonna has been caught in a texting controversy. In October 2013, she was accused of texting during the 12 Years a Slave premiere at the New York Film Festival.
