When Sony announced they were rebooting the Spider-Man franchise, Dylan O'Brien became one of the biggest fan favorites to be the new Spidey.

And who better to champion the charge than the Teen Wolf hottie's longtime girlfriend Britt Robertson?

"I think he'd be an awesome Spider-Man," the Longest Ride star told me at the premiere of the new Christian Dior documentary Dior and I. "He's just so cute and I feel like he'd be so good at it. He's really good at the action stuff and he's funny and he's charming. He would be a great Spider-Man."

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed last week that the new web-slinging films will likely take place while Peter Parker is still in high school more than the Andrew Garfield versions had.

"There are so many things from the comics that haven't been done yet," Feige said in an interview with Collider. "Not just characters or villains or supporting characters, but sides to his character. The most obvious being the young, doesn't quite fit in kid before his powers, and then the fella that puts on a mask and swings around and fights bad guys."

In early March, O'Brien shot down rumors that he had already landed the big job.

"It makes me feel bad because I'm, like, disappointing a big chunk of fans across the nation," the Maze Runner star told BuzzFeed. "You can tell them that it's not true. It's so funny. My friends from New Jersey are calling me. They're like, 'What are you not telling me, dude?! Spider-Man?!'"

It's not that he wouldn't want to play Spider-Man.

"It's nothing but flattering," he shared. "[But] it's never something I would want to get myself excited about, since I know I haven't heard about it from a professional standpoint. I've always wanted to play Peter Parker, obviously. I feel like [for] any actor my age, that's, like, a big thing."
