It's officially a prank, folks.

Just one day after Dennis Quaid was caught having a total meltdown on camera, the viral clip has now been revealed as a Funny or Die video, according to a tweet from the website's Twitter account.

"After days of speculation, the truth about Dennis Quaid's on-set meltdown is finally revealed," read the post with a link to the entire Quaid clip, which sheds some light on the actor's vulgar choice of words.

"I am acting here, and this dickhead wanders on to my set," The Rookie star screamed in the initial clip, which was uploaded to YouTube April 10. "I can't even get a line out until Dopey the Dick starts whispering in your ear. You're not even watching anymore."

And as the full length video reveals, there is indeed a man who wanders on set wearing a penis costume, providing the context we all needed for Quaid's "Dopey the Dick" remarks.

Mystery solved.

Initially, many speculated that the video was a Jimmy Kimmel prank, and last night, the comedian addressed the much-buzzed about outburst on his show while denying any connection.

"I watched that video last night about 14 times, although my favorite part was this: 'I can't even get a line out with Dopey the Dick whispering in my ear.' For the next eight years, I'm planning to call everyone Dopey the Dick. I might have a T-shirt printed up...I watched this a bunch of times last night, and when I woke up this morning, I was being blamed for it. There are two-dozen articles online, thousands of comments, suggesting that this is a prank video and I am responsible for it."

Watch the entire video and then hit the comments with your thoughts!

Touché, Quaid. Well played.
