Break out those calendars and start sending out those betting pool reminders because The Bachelorette is ba-aaack! On Monday, May 18, the ABC reality hit returns and, for the first time ever, will feature two ladies in the spotlight: Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson, both fan-favorites from Chris Soules' recent season.
And with a premiere date comes a first look at the two gorgeous brunettes in action...and in questionable gowns?! In the first promotional pic for the premiere, which you can feast your eyes on above, Britt and Kaitlyn opted for two very different looks: While Kaitlyn went for a slightly more understated sequined metallic dress, Britt rocked a bolder look, going with a neon blue taffeta creation that is giving us major '80s prom vibes! Hey, you do you, girl, you do you!
And first impressions really do matter this upcoming 11th season as the 25 men will get to choose which lady they like better, and she'll become the only woman left to hand out the final rose. It's basically Thunderdome Bachelorette-style, which has earned some backlash from fans, as well as former Bachelor Sean Lowe, who called the concept "disgusting."
The new twosome twist was announced during the After the Final Rose ceremony in March, with host Chris Harrison saying, "That's right, it is going to be Britt and Kaitlyn. So the 25 men, on night one, they are going to have the ultimate say on who they think would make the best wife."
After the big reveal, Britt,a Los Angeles-based waitress, admitted, "I mean, I'm super grateful, I think it's an amazing opportunity, it's more than I can comprehend, I'm still having trouble processing it, but I love Kaitlyn, so we'll see how it goes!" Kaitlyn, a dance instructor, jokingly added, "I think we discussed that we'll end up in the same hottub at some point!'
The Bachelorette premieres Monday, May 18 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
