Despite recently being named two of the 25 Most Influential Teens by Time magazine, Michelle Obama doesn't think her daughters Sasha and Malia Obama are deserving of the title.

The first lady opened up during an interview on Live With Kelly and Michael, where the co-hosts are currently reporting from the White House, and admitted that she doesn't know why her girls were given the honor.

"They're not influential, they just live here," FLOTUS said with a chuckle. "They have done nothing to gain any influence."

President Barack Obama's leading lady did share, however, that her kids are "pretty self-motivated" and incredibly responsible.

"We've always had rules…no screen time during the week, no phones. Now that Malia is older she is pretty much independent because I want her to be prepared for college when I'm not there," Michelle explained.

"But they get their stuff done. They handle their business."

Michael Strahan asked if the Time magazine honor had given the girls a big ego, or an excuse to get out of their responsibilities, but it looks like that isn't the case!

"I don't even think that they realize that they're influential," she replied. "I don't think anybody showed them that article!"

You hear that? Someone alert the first daughters pronto!

Time magazine made headlines, and stirred controversy, with the annual list last fall when they also named Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Lorde and Malala Yousafzai.

Rookie founder Tavi Gevinson also made it into the top 25, as well as Jaden Smith, Mad Men's Kiernan Shipka , Austin Mahone and Chloë Grace Moretz
