After only one episode of The Royals, a new shipper couple was born!
E!'s first scripted series debuted Sunday night and immediately introduced viewers to star-crossed lovers Liam (William Moseley), aka the future King of England, and his new crush Ophelia (Merritt Patterson), the American daughter of the King's head of security. They come from different worlds, he's poised to take over the throne, but their feelings are just too strong to ignore, yadda yadda yadda...we all know where this going, and we can't wait to go on the ride!
But in this Sunday's all-new episode of The Royals, the romantic Liam-Ophelia love story hits a major roadblock, and that roadblock's name is Gemma (Sophie Colquhoun).
Liam's ex-girlfriend is everything a future King could want in a future wife, and both Ophelia and Gemma know it. Plus, it doesn't exactly help Ophelia's case that the Queen herself (Elizabeth Hurley) is Team Gemma, rooting for the titled, wealthy ex to win back her son's heart as she's more "appropriate" for the throne than the naive American.
