For those who simply couldn't get enough of the series premiere of E!'s The Royals last night, we've got a little treat for you.
The Royals' creator Mark Schwahn sat down to give the scoop on the very first episode, where he dished on the cast, plot and what's to come!
"While it's a family drama, there's a lot of pre-destined behavior," he said. "There's a lot of 'this is who you'll be' and 'this is how you'll be' and I thought it was really compelling to take a look at a royal family where the stakes are so high."
The premiere episode was filled with drama and excitement, including the devastating death of Prince Robert, an unexpected hook-up between Prince Liam (William Moseley) and Ophelia (Merritt Patterson), and a shocking announcement from King Simon (Vincent Regan) who declares that he is considering abolishing the monarchy.
And was anyone else totally caught off-guard by the sneaky surprise at the end from Jasper (Tom Austen), the hot new bodyguard hired by Princess Eleanor (Alexandra Park)?
"We know that Eleanor blows through bodyguards," Mark explains. "So here comes this bumbling bodyguard and then at the end of the day, we find out that he's actually playing her. And what I love about it is it becomes spy-versus-spy at that point. You have these two worthy adversaries."
