One of the first people Jennifer Lawrence saw when she walked into the Governors Ball after winning her Oscar in 2013 was celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck.

"She didn't know who I was," Puck told me the other day at a preview of this year's Governors Ball. "Her publicist said, 'That's Wolfgang Puck!' She says, 'Oh my God, I eat his canned soup all the time.' I thought that was very funny."

Puck has been designing the menu for the ball for the last 21 years. About 1,500 people are expected to attend this year's soiree, which immediately follows the Oscar telecast in a ballroom next to the Dolby Theatre.

There's something for everyone: Chicken pot pie, sushi, lobster, macaroni & cheese, vegan risotto and even vegan desserts!

Prohibition-era speakeasies inspire this year's theme with dark and layered fabrics covering the walls and tabletops. Dark wood bars will be stocked with champagne, wine and more.

"It's wonderful," says Sequoia Productions' Cheryl Cecchetto, who has been producing the ball for 26 years. "It's beautiful, it's comfortable, and it has great textures and wonderful and luxurious furniture that is so inviting."

Canned soup, however, will not be served.
