Lady Gaga continues to prove that she is a notable name when it comes to the world of music.

Mother Monster is slated to be the keynote speaker at the SXSW Music Festival in Austin on Friday, and this event will be historic for multiple reasons. Not only will Gaga be the first woman in 15 years (!) to take the task, but she will be the youngest speaker ever.

"I think she's a pretty obvious keynote choice," music festival general manager James Minor told MTV News of the 27-year-old star.

"Our festival is known for its diversity and I believe that having her as a keynote follows with that thinking. In the past we've had everybody from Lou Reed to Smokey Robinson to Dave Grohl. We've kept it pretty diverse throughout the years."

Last night, Lady Gaga made a surprise appearance at the "K-Pop Night Out" event featuring performances by Jay Park, HyunA, Crying Nut.

"Stopped by Coldplay, K Pop, and a Death Metal affair," she wrote on her Little Monsters website. "As a music lover former festival junkie, I'm having the time of my life. It's all about bringing people together to share talents. This is an ARTPOP Mecca."

She continued on Twitter, "So beautiful watching artists come together to share talent in such a loving musical environment. This place is ARTPOP. Creative Rebellion!"

Gaga announced last week that she would be making a SXSW appearance with a performance Thursday evening at the Stubb's Doritos #BoldStage. All proceeds will go to the Born This Way Foundation.

"Someone just got tix to my SXSW Doritos Stage Show #BoldBravery DRESSED LIKE MY DOPE SINGLE COVER https://bplane.co/zVcWxy," the pop singer tweeted.
