Lady Gaga's appearing live and in the flesh all right.

The "Applause" singer's performance Sunday night on Britain's The X Factor has drawn more than 260 complaints from viewers who weren't thrilled to see her cavorting around in nude-colored underwear and a pair of seashells for a bra while she performed "Venus" and "Do What U Want," two anthems off her latest album, Artpop.

Per the Guardian, the U.K.'s TV watchdog Ofcom confirmed it received a "high volume" of objections, as did executives for ITV, and that it was evaluating them to determine whether or not to investigate.

A spokesman for the network defended Gaga.

"We do not believe Lady Gaga's performance was inappropriate for the family audience of the X Factor results show, which has an established tradition of featuring performances from the biggest music stars. Lady Gaga is well known for her highly individual performance style," the ITV rep said.

This isn't the first time a racy routine has caught the attention of media regulators.

Both Rihanna's and Christina Aguilera's scantily clad, 2011 X Factor appearances prompted similar protests.

Ofcom probed the matter but declared that no broadcasting rules were violated, though not before stating that both artists were "at the limit" of acceptability for pre-watershed broadcast—i.e., the period of British TV programming that does not contain adult content and is geared toward families.

Those offended by Lady Gaga probably are fortunate they didn't check out Mother Monster's surprise set Saturday night at the London nightclub G-A-Y.

That's because, per Fox News, Gaga was singing "Venus" dressed as a ghost when she decided spontaneously to strip down to her birthday suit before walking off the stage.

"Just saw Lady Gaga do a surprise set at G-A-Y," tweeted openly gay English comedian Matt Lucas, who also appeared in Bridesmaids. "All agreed it was impressive but we're staying gay."
