Time to celebrate, human beings!

Community's premiere date has been announced and the cult comedy's will be returning with its fifth season Jan. 2. To celebrate their return, Joel McHale and friends will premiere with two new back-to-back episodes from 8 to 9 p.m. Cool cool cool.

In not-so-exciting news, NBC has just announced the cancellation of not one, but two of their new Fall TV series. So which shows are being banished from the peacock line-up? The Mike O'Malley-centric comedy Welcome to the Family and the cop drama Ironside are the two newest TV casualties of the 2013 Fall season.

Effective immediately, Welcome to the Family has been pulled from NBC's schedule and on Thursdays, NBC will air a mix of back-to-back Parks & Recreation episodes and various specials for the next two months. Ironside will air one last episode Wednesday Oct. 23 before Dateline will fill its 10 p.m. time slot.

NBC has also announced that drama Chicago Fire will be premiering its sophomore season Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 10 p.m.

While we're not particularly surprised that these two freshman series have been cut, we are bummed that superstar actor, and all around great guy O'Malley will not be appearing on our TV screens each and every week. We'll miss you, Mike!
