The 27-year-old singer recently released her fourth album "The Electric Lady," and just this morning it was announced she will appear on Saturday Night Live as the musical guest on Oct. 26.
Understandably she is a very busy gal at the moment. So when we scored a bit of time with the CoverGirl we didn't want to waste it. The solution? We opted to play a rapid fire round of questions.
Here's what Janelle shared with us during the lightning-fast Q&A:
What is your favorite fashion item right now? My leather Chanel gloves given to me by my friend Karl Lagerfeld.
What is your must-have makeup item? Of course, I love my signature CoverGirl LipPerfection in Hot. I also love using a pop of color on my nails, and a bold red is always the perfect accent. Right now my go-to is CoverGirl Outlast Nail Gloss in Ever Reddy.
What about skin care? Hot water and Olay makeup remover wipes.
. . . And hair care? Naturally Trendy products for natural hair girls. The leave-in conditioner has shea butter and cantu shea butter.
What are you currently playing on your iPod? Deep Cotton's fix tape called "Runaway Radio," "Jidenna," "Prince & Pauper," and unreleased 3rdeyegirl (Prince's new band) music.
Favorite app on your phone? The Digg app and Scramble with Friends
What's your favorite TV series? Game of Thrones is one of my favorites for 2013. I love sci-fi and fantasy and it has a huge influence on my music and writing.
Are you binge-watching anything at the moment? I just finished binge-watching Orange Is the New Black—I loved it!
What are a few of your favorite restaurants? I love going to The Grove to eat Brazilian food at Pampas Grill. I enjoy a Cuban spot in NYC named Tina's and I love Mr. Chow's in London.
Do you have a signature drink or cocktail? I have a drink called "wondapunch" it's top secret though. It was created in 1865.
Do you have a celebrity style crush? Tilda Swinton, Johnny Depp, and the drummer in Adam and the Ants.
Okay, what stars would you love to work with? Tim Burton and George Lucas.
The coolest thing I recently purchased was… I purchased fundraiser tickets for my nephew's football team in Atlanta, GA!
And finally, my signature fragrance is…? That's like giving away my bank account info!
