Hell hath no fury like a POTUS scorned!
Though Cyrus (Jeff Perry) and Mellie (Bellamy Young) are often telling Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) what to do, the two schemers will face the wrath of Scandal's president in Thursday's all-new episode.
Why? Because they threw poor, innocent White House staffer Jeanine (Samantha Sloyan) under the bus, leaking her name as Fitz's mistress, in order to protect the presidency. Fitz, of course, is less than pleased by their latest maneuver and doesn't hold back in their latest Oval Office powwow. We've got an exclusive sneak peek at Fitz's intense showdown with his chief of staff and wife, in which he finally grows some "presidential-size balls"!
Now that his presidency is "hanging by the very thinnest of threads," Cyrus advises Fitz to "grow some presidential-size balls, get out there and tell the world that you had sex with Jeanine Locke." Mellie is backing Cyrus' plan, saying she's willing to confirm it so that they "can put all of this behind" them.
Too bad Fitz's isn't down with their plan. "I call the shots," he counters, adding that Olivia (Kerry Washington) is going to make things right with Jeanine. Oh, and he also offers up a threat! Anyone else liking this side of Fitz?!
Scandal's season three premiere brought in record ratings, attracting 10.5 million viewers, which is up 59 percent from the season two opener. Oh, and the premiere prompted over 700,000 tweets on Twitter.
Scandal airs Thursday at 10 p.m. on ABC.
