Hopefully this is the last time we'll ever hear Paul McCartney utter the words Honey Boo Boo!
Dropping by Monday's episode of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, the 71-year-old Beatle proved that while he knows a thing or two about writing great music, trying to speak like an American is another skill entirely!
The funny bit found McCartney on the phone backstage talking about how "Hey Jude" was supposed to be "Hey Dude," when he "bumps" into the 39-year-old funnyman—and lo and behold, the two swap accents.
"Speak for yourself, I sound pretty cool. I sound like a Beatle," quipped Fallon. "I can say anything in this accent…anything."
Fallon, of course, gave it his best Liverpudlian lilt, asking Sir Paul if he'd "like a spot of tea" and quoting various Beatles tunes. McCartney acted none too impressed, though there was a lot to be desired with his own attempt at a Midwestern warble. A good head butt on the former moptop's part put things back in their right place, but not before he mimicked Jimmy saying "Honey Boo Boo" as he walked away.
During his sit-down on the show, McCartney also earned some laughs with some old Beatles photos he brought with him, one of which was a picture of him holding a camera.
